This page is too cute to believe. We got a tour of a preschool/kindergarden in the Hutong, and the kids were... well, scroll down & see for yourself why I went a little photo-happy. "Hello cuties!"

This school was a magnet for music...the kids sang and played the piano for us...and topped it off with a choral rendition of "Old McDonald Had A Farm" in perfect toddler English...it was just like a school play in the States. The kids in China learn a foreign language (English for most, but some learn Japanese, French or Spanish) beginning at a VERY early age....

You've gotta love seeing Sesame Street characters in the middle of Old Beijing... some things are universal! [for example, I think I spotted Bert checking out Ernie... well OK - maybe I didn't - and on that note - back to the cute little kids]

The little boy at the bottom of this picture has the word "Dude" written all over him...

Above is the kindergarden... and I believe this would be the preschool
