Tiananmen Square...looking East towards the People's Congress...

This view of the square shows a corner of Mao's Tomb on the left...notice all the red flags...we were told that this was special for the People's Congress...

This picture of the square was taken facing South from the Tiananmen Gate of the Forbidden City...General Mao's Tomb is the building in the background...

This is a pretty good shot of Mao's Tomb...people line up for hours to see the wax embalmed body of the father of communism, much like Lenin's tomb in Moscow.

The Tiananmen Gate of the Forbidden City...note the prominent display of General Mao's picture...this is a view of Beijing that seems to be a favorite of Western News reporters...whenever you hear "Live from Beijing" you will usually see this gate in the background...

The Old Beijing Bell Tower...in ancient times the Bell Tower tolled the morning "Wake Up" and the Drum Tower beat the evening "Quittin' Time!"
