...TIWANAKU

I've seen this place spelled "Tiwanaku" and "Tiahuanaco." I'm not sure which spelling is considerred "correct," but this first picture explains the spelling I use:

The bus ride from La Paz to Tiwanaku was miserable. These pictures were from a trip I took with a friend in 1993. By the time we reached the town, we were moments from motion sickness of some sort... the bus was overcrowded to the point of insanity - filled with Bolivians, not tourists. In fact, we were the only gringos on the bus. Once at the town of Tiwanaku it was still a hike to the ruins - but it was worth it, as the next photos clearly show.

I have no defense for the hair - other than to say that it was 1993 & let's just leave it at that...
